Drawing with a pen
Labels:
drawing
After reading Danny Gregory's book The Creative License, I decided to try using a pen instead of pencil for a few sketches. I drew these on Sunday on the way to my in-laws and at my in-laws' house for Father's Day. I liked drawing with a pen ... I thought that not being able to erase would hamper my drawing, but instead, it seemed to be more freeing ... not sure why ....

That's really cool. I've never tried drawing in pen - looking forward to reading that book.
ReplyDeleteThose are terrific - are you sure you haven't tried this before? I like your quilting, also.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how pen is so freeing isn't it? I especially like your flowers
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the freedom that pen drawing gives. Once you get past the terror of it you realise that it isn't necessary to always have the perfect line.
ReplyDeleteThese are good.
Glad you liked the fabric postcard!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your help in identifying the quilt block.

Great drawings. I was surprised by the exact same thing when I started drawing with a pen a few months ago. Strangely freeing... Keep at it.
ReplyDeleteLike you quilts too - not really a quilt person, but these are great.
These rae really nice. I too find that using a pen helps to loosen up--it's really counter-intuitive but it works. Your quilts are amazing!
ReplyDeleteWith pen you know you can't change it so there's no stress. pencil is a different story. love the dashboard.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at how well the drawing went with a pen, too! these are great - I hope you keep it up! And oh how you make me long to quilt! It's been so long!! Great work!
