Roots

This week's creative theme at Inspire Me Thursday is "roots". I got an idea right away, but as I started painting the background, another thought came to me. So I went with it. I'm glad I did ... I really like how it turned out! The background and trees are acrylic paint and the writing is done with a Sharpie paint pen. The texture in the water at the top was from pressing a paper towel into the paint and then removing it. Love it!

You can see other interpretations here.

  2. I love your use of techniques. Your script incorperating the verse against the curve of the roots is striking.

  4. Hi Jennifer,
I love this tree...and the words..the whole idea. You and I think alike. Even though I've posted a SoulCollage card for this challenge I also made a mandala of a tree...encompassed by words! I wanted to draw roots, but don't know how yet -- You drew what I imagined! What a blessing...thank you. (I will post that tree mandala before Thursday) -- and I see we are both from IL!
    Thanks for inspiring!
